Panasonic PlasmaGreat TV. Been using it for a few months. Picture quality is awesome. We use a sound system with it so we really don't know about its sound. Works great with our system. Be sure to get the HDMI cable with it. It makes everything sound and look better.

Great quality at a great price. When ordering a television set, I first decided that I wanted a great picture before any other attribute. The next two factors were cost and size. I wanted to spend reasonable amount of money while not sacrificing image quality or size. I believe I hit a home run with this plasma. A like-size and quality LCD or LED display would cost much more and the general consensus amongst videophiles is that plasma actually offers a better and more natural picture. Plus, 50" is quite huge in my living room. This television will not disappoint. My entire family is impressed with the Netflix streaming through VIERA Cast. I cannot describe how happy I am with this purchase. It is a great deal with the Skype camera too. If you want a great plasma display then look no further than the G25 series from Panasonic.

one of the best HDTV out there, but i would say the only one best considering value for moneyI bought this TV from electronics expo under 1000$ incl. tax.
I did a lot of research going back and forth between LCD back-lit and edge-lit TVs and those with 120/240Hz refresh rates and thats when i happened to notice this TV and the reviews mentioning burn in protection and energy efficiency and picture quality of this plasma.
before buying one for me, i got a chance to go to best buy and get one of the 50" G20 series for my in-laws and got a chance to play with that in shop.
I had nothing else to worry about when i saw a good deal for the 50" G25 online after two weeks.
Is been only a week since i bought the TV, but my experience is very good about the picture quality since then.also I am not worried about the power consumption since i happened to see some of the you tube videos showing energy usage from full black to white levels on Panasonic plasma.
Netflix is there since the last software update to version 3.00 and is working like a charm.Regarding the youtube playback,i am not sure if it automatically selects the highest resolution video if multiple resolutions are available.I havn't tried playing media from USB or SD-card storage. Also i have read in some reviews/descriptions online that this TV is capable of recording content to USB storage device.I will update the review as and when i try that.

I had been seeing some reviews mentioning a buzz sound coming from the TV, and what i noticed is that i can hear that when the TV is running more bright screens, like if I set picture mode to 'vivid'.
I personally prefer cool display rather than a very bright one and for me the THX, movie, standard settings seems more appropriate for best viewing experience. Also i don't think the buzzing is a fault in hardware, since any high voltage AC device has the possibility of producing electrical buzzing or humming in the audible range.
I had been looking for and 'am yet to find a blu-ray player to go along with this tv, i saw some panasonic players a good pick, but i think i am paying for the same features that i have on this tv like viera cast.It would have been good if they had some latest model players with just the features one would need when using with this tv, or else .. ohh..yeh i can choose a PS3.. :)

Nice...butI got the T.V. last night, I had visions of a perfect picture on every channel and I realize this has more to do with the cable company than with the T.V. but it should be known that my 15 year old rear projection has a much better picture than this T.V. has. The HD channels are awesome on the new one along with a couple others, but the bottom line is if I would have known the quality of non HD channels was going to be so much worse than the rear projection T.V. I might have waited a little longer. I was under the impression the picture quality would be "at least" as good as the best rear projection picture. I only bought a new T.V. cause the old one died so I don't feel to bad about my purchase. I think I would have been much more disappointed with a LCD judging by the in store diplays which are all in HD. In my opinion I would not "upgrade" just to keep up with the times. Don't get me wrong, I think this is a nice T.V, I have yet to try a DVD or watch a football game, but might just be 2010 challenged or picky. Just my 2 cents.

Netflix is now available! Before I start let me just say this is my first Plasma TV purchase as I feared the Image Retention and Burn in problems of past plasma's. I have bought a new LCD TV almost at a rate of one a year (my wife hates my passion for a high quality tv) trying to find a TV that made me happy. None of which has clinched my happiness until I received this TV!
First lets just say this 50" tv is huge! I couldn't believe the difference in my 42 inch to this 50 inch. The colors on this TV are very lifelike and rich in color even on standard definition programming. The THX mode is just outstanding although if you search over at avs forums for some settings that might appeal to you more.
I was a little afraid of buying a plasma because my living room has a 10 foot long by 6 foot high bay window and I have track bar lighting for night time viewing. However the anti reflective screen is amazing. I barely see any glare unless i really look and it doesn't affect the beauty of the deep blacks and rich colors.
I use this TV mostly for sports, games via PS3 and Xbox 360, and watching blu-rays via PS3. First sports are just amazing, No more blur. It always drove me nuts the blur while watching anything fast on tv. I really noticed it while watching the Indy 500 this year on my 240 hz Vizio LCD set this year and thats when I first started looking for a new TV. So far with this TV I have watched an IRL race, a recorded NHL game in HD(go PENGUINS), Baseball, Nascar race, Preseason football and I have not noticed any blur at all and I have really been trying to find some to fault the TV some how.
PS3 and Xbox 360 games are like a whole new system on this monster TV. Its like upgrading from a regular playstation to a 360. The colors are richer, clearer. Gameplay is smooth and I don't notice any delay. Dark scenes in games are much easier to navigate through and so much nicer to look at.
Blurays I was a little worried about since I have read that this TV doesn't properly handle 1080p/24 playback. However I have not noticed any difference in blu ray playback and the quality is outstanding. Its like watching out a window when watching blu rays. The action is just right there in front of you and could not be any clearer.
Also the streaming of internet apps is great. Netflix just got released yesterday for those who have been waiting for it. Although I can stream netflix from my ps3 and xbox it is much easier for my wife to just have to push one button on the TV remote then trying to mess with my onkyo reciever and get the inputs right. You can also stream youtube videos, picassa, pandora music, Amazon VOD, Fox sports is coming soon and a couple of others I can't think of off hand.
The sound quality on this TV actually isn't too bad for a flat panel. It seems much richer and better than any of my three LCD's I have owned although as mentioned I play most of my sound thorough and Onkyo 7.1 home theater. The remote for the TV is big and offers nice big buttons for those who have big fingers. It also has a back light on the remote which is a nice touch.
All in all I am very happy with this purchase through Amazon. I am also willing to answer any questions that you might have about this TV and will do my best to answer to the best of my knowledge. Amazon got my TV to me using CEVA shipping in 5 days. It was not white glove delivery but the delivery man allowed me to inspect the TV and power on before signing which he understood and gave no problems.
